Paris day 2 / Night 3

It was such a beautiful chilly morning when we all took the Metro and went to Saint Chappelle , Notre Dame and the Orsay Museum. St. Louis or King Louis of France (don't ask me what #) bought the crown of thorns of Christ from the Venetians who got it from the King of Constantinople. King Louis might be one of the most hard-core Christian person I've ever known - he even physically went as a Crusader to the holy land - and he's a king. Most the kings/ leaders during that time just "delegated" an army or just hard-core civilians to reconquer the holy land. But anyway, so King Louis wanted to house this precious crown of thorns so he had the Saint Chapelle built - cool huh? That gothic structure has very impressive stained glass windows that depicts bible stories.

We then walked to the Notre Dame - I thought we were going to climb the 300 steps but we ran out of time. We came in in time to see the first part of Sunday Mass. I even stomped on this stone - they say that if you stomp on/spin on it, you will go back to Paris - kind of like the Trevi Fountain in Rome :D

Then we took the RER to the Orsay Museum , call me nerdy but I found myself brimming in tears again when I walked in the exhibit of Van Gogh works...and Renoir - oh my gosh. I'm a fan. He's a chubby chaser you know hehehehe :D and Monet...a lot of Impressive ..Impressionist work - Monet, Guigan (who was scared off by his friend Van Gogh when VG went cuckoo)..Manet...it was simply amazing.

I wish could write descriptively. I must say, this is only day 3 and country #1 :) I'm excited and a little nervous. It kind sucks that I have to wash my clothes every night and they were right - clothes age fast when you travel. My cardigan has a hole on it already.

Oh and we ate at the Latin Quarter that has a plethora of just about every ethnic dishes - but mostly greek eateries.

There is someone who wants to use the internet so i have to give them the respect of not overdoing this. So ...

Au revoir!!
