....in my own time and my own terms. I didn't want to ask my friend to pull over at every pretty scenery I see. I can't. So most the photos are here are taken from a vehicle going 50 mph
I'm no wine connoisseur , I don't claim to be. I just enjoy them every now and then.
It was fun to be back in V. Sattui again and Sutter Home (where the wines are good and reasonably priced).
We had a picnic snack at V. Sattui after we were happily and very slightly buzzed from the free wine-tasting ($5.00 usually). We went from the whites to the roses and the reds. None of the whites stood out for me but being a fan of anything Gamay and I love V. Sattui's Gamay Rouge, Port and Zinfandel. However, I could really see myself having their Madeira on a cold winter night.
I really wanted to have the Brie cheese that my friends had and made a mistake of having a couple of bites over yummy crackers - knowing all too well I'm lactorse-intolerant.
Needless to say, when we stopped by Rutherford Grill, I could only order a skillet corn bread and not a real meal.. yeah.
I can't even enjoy the wines of Sutter Home, heck, I should've been the designated driver :D. Instead I wandered off the garden which there isn't really alot but I like flowers and the roses are great and the Victorian house-turned-inn is very charming.
So I will be back next week, in my own terms :D.
