Residential Investigation in Oakley, CA

I am not the type who rely on my "feelings" or "vibes" when I'm doing paranormal investigations with this group I belong to CDP. I rely more on measurable and emperical evidence. Exploring alternative explanations that are non-paranormal by recreating the conditions that might have caused the unexplained noise for example, or a voice that was heard - those type of things.

I really am a fan of EVPs or Electronic Voice Phenomenon. The EVPs that I have caught during investigations has made my belief that evps make good evidence stronger. I am a skeptic. I want to explore every logical, common-sensical and natural explanation before I could that it is paranormal or simply unexplained. I am sure that there are ways to debunk evps to see if they are credible, I just haven't gotten around it. But see, I don't gain anything if I fake my EVPs, I refuse to even do that because I want to learn more about the paranormal you know. I'll be fooling myself if I fake my evidence.

With the EVPs that I caught, I stand by them because I was present during the event. I ask a question, I pause for a few seconds to make room for an answer. I have yet to hear an audible voice to respond to my questions. I hear the answers to my questions when I review the tape. The EVPs I have caught are sometimes clear and some are faint. It's an acquired to listen within that white noise. But some responses doesn't even need some white-nois sifting - it comes through loud and clear. Again, these voices were not heard during the EVP session itself.

Which brings me to the residential investigation in Oakley. Again, I'm not one to rely of "vibes" or "creeped-out" feelings to determine that something is paranormal. So, during the investigation, we investigated a room we call the "Purple Room" because , literally, the walls are purple in color. So, as we approaching this room from the very small hallway to do an EMF and temperature sweep, I smiled because I really liked the color that I'm seeing and I even commented to D the other investigator, " Oh wow how pretty, it's purple."

But the smile in my face vanished as soon as I stepped in the room. I felt creeped out and I felt this constricting feeling that was almost physical. I did not say anything and continued to log the EMF data and the temperature data in the room along w/ D.

When I brought up this experience to the our lead investigator W, he went in there to do a solo EVP session. He brought w/ him his recorder, dvr camera and the k2 meter - which measures emf and it lights up from green to red indicating the measurement of the emf. Green for low and red for very high. We can hear him ask questions and then he would say " Thank you" which means he is getting k2 hits. But at one point he had to exit the purple room and heard him trip on his way out. He came out holding his right ear and he said that his digital voice recorder was almost knocked out of his hand by some unseen force, but he was gripping it tightly that it just moved in his hand. It did however, made such a loud noise that is why it hurt his right ear. He pressed rewind to give it a listen and we all could hear the loud metallic wack on his recorder.

We were getting a lot of K2 hits in the purple room. Again, the skeptic in me kicked in and I automaticall count ( 1 mississippi - 2-mississippi style) on the k2 hits to rule out a patterned natural emf spike. There were not set/timed pattern. The k2 hits appears to be direct responses to our questions (light it up for yes). Although, there was one occassion where I was holding the k2 and it was firing up like crazy every 5 seconds and that went on for about 2 minutes. After that, it was flat then it begain to light up in response to the questions. We utilized the k2 meter and our digital recorders during our sessions.

So when I was reviewing the evp sessions I have (I only have 2 at about 15 minutes each), I could not deny the voices that I heard in there.

6:42 " Why are you doing this? " ( whisper, sounds female - but I don't know if it's Deb but it does not make sense w/ what she's saying)

8:05 " Yes" , after D asked ' Did you live in this land' (sounded female) - faint

8:35 " Yes" after we asked ' Are you a friend' (sounded female) - faint

15:31 "Yes" after I said " I'm not sure if that was you..." sounds female or a young child.

3:23 " baby" but it's so faint after Will asked again which one is your favorite and then Will Said " wow" because the K2 lit up. ( sounds like a little girl)

I think the thing that was compelling for me was the firm child voice correcting D saying " I'm 7" after Deb said " You're 6! "

The claims of activity in the house were that the 2 toddlers living in the house said that they kept seeing a man on their stairs. While the mother said she hears 2 children in her house that sounded older than her kids (ages 2 and 3). The uncle of the girls said that everytime he sleeps over he has strange dreams of two children standing by the couch where he sleeps.

Tommorrow we have an emergency investigation at the same location as according to the client, there has been an increase in activity and the family wants to get to the bottom of it.

I think research needs to b e done about the area - old news archives or old archives. Who is this man? Who are these children?
