Spain was a superpower back in the days. It thrived on shipbuilding among other things. Because of her wealth, it has made expeditions to other lands possible and The Americas or The Philippine Islands wouldn't be the same if She didn't grace these lands. Nowadays, she still stands tall and proud of her rich history. A little rough and rustic around the edges but she still bears her echoes of undeniable power and beauty - but it's not the same.
Russia was once a queen racing with the US with innovation - space age technology, nuclear technology - but she too, succumbed to the aftermath and consequences brought about by social unrest, tragedies and political turmoil.
Now Japan, to this day, is a country I truly admire. From the ashes and ruins of World War II emerged a powerhouse and a leader in anything electronics. She is also known for the quality work in her auto industry (although, lately, I really have no desire to purchase any Japanese vehicle except if it's an Infiniti, call it vanity, call it whatever, I think their Hondas and Toyotas are overrated).
The days of roses for the United States are starting to crumble. Sure this country has survived the Great Depression and came out of it stronger. How could a world leader in technology, medicine and other businesses finds itself in this position?
Fuck greed you know. Fuck those out of control , unethical people of financial institutions. Fuck inflated real estate prices.
What is wrong in this picture? This County I live in, according to bestplaces.net states:
Compared to the rest of the country, S County's cost of living is 29.28% Higher than the U.S. average.
The unemployment rate in S County is 10.40 percent(U.S. avg. is 8.50%). Recent job growth is Negative. S County jobs have Decreased by 2.00 percent
What is wrong in this picture? It's really fucked up. So you're saying, compared to THE REST of the US, it cost 30% more to live here but the unemployed is 2-3% more than the rest of this country? The job growth here is negative and yet, it still cost more to live here? There ought to be an exodus. What the fuck and am I doing living here? How did we find outserlves in this mess?
There are so many ugly houses here in California that are so expensive.
What's worse, it's an employer's market out there. Is the economy really getting better? Bullshit.
How can it be when , there are so many unemployed but highly qualified people out there but with not a lot of open positions? And even if there are , they are forced to take a pay cut just so they can have a job. Really? Unemployment rate is decreasing? What about putting in there the fact that they are taking a pay cut? Tack inflation in there while you're at it will you? That should be put in the equation somehow and what to do you get? A plateau at best.
Equal Opportunity Employment, anyone? Kiss my fat ass.
There are Employers who would ask job seekers to go to a freebie website (yeah, hahahaha, so comical, they're fucking too cheap to even do it themselves) to get their free credit score to determine their employment eligibility? And if you see they have a low score you think this is a basis of how they do their job and therefore, you won't even give them the time of day?
Credit score - whoever came up with this dung heap anyway? Measure someone's ability to live above their means? Wow. Great idea jack ass.
"Oh..you can't get this job because you're not so good in living above your means sorry."
" You can't get this house because you're not so good in living above your means."
"...you can't get into a cell phone plan because you're not so good in lving above your means."
"....you're not qualified for this car because you're not good in living above your means."
Bullshit.
...to some degree...Greed can be good. However, will it be possible to have Greed and Ethics side by side? Ethical greed hahahahaha...Ethically Greedy ....hahahahhaa what an oxymoron...
is it possible? It reminds me of the saying of something like .." ..a flutter of a butterfly wing can create a tsunami someplace else..." or something..:D To those who are in a position of power, just keep that in mind when you flap your wings, will you? Well, not only for those who hold power - it's for everyone, myself included.
And , I voted for you Mr. Obama. I understand the cesspool you have to step into when you came into office and I honestly do not envy you. But what is this..plan that you have? I heard in the news recently about giving about ...was it millions or billions to low income families? You know that's great help them but does it create jobs and help other businesses? What about giving subsidies or ..incentives to company's who are innotivative...sustainable...so that they can create more jobs? Because, we need to spend money again. It devastates me to see Saab gone, Pontiac gone...Mervyns, Circuit City, KB Toys, Borders and all other retailers.
Bernanke - what the heck? Can't you use your Economist brain to discuss these things with Mr. Obama? Wait, are you still our Federal Reseres Chairman? Gosh I miss Greenspan.

It's not rocket science. The economy is fucked. The middle class slid down to the poor class. The wealhty are not as wealthy. Companies are faced with a shrinking market. Job losses are everywhere and then - here lower income families, here's some money to help you out - uhm, excuse me Mr. President, what about the rest of us?
And just asking rhetorically...can it even be feasible to not outsource any more and bring back the jobs here? I think that will be damaging to the world economy though...
...and China..hah, don't even get me started. Sure she's on fire but I hope I won't be around to see when her bubble explode and splatter her gunk across the globe.
I'm not made to a be a healthcare professional, been there done that, I'd probaly have my license taken away because I'm so clumsy. And as much as I love finance and accounting - my brain is not built for it either because Finance, Math and Accounting does not love me back. It seems like these fields are what they are hiring for lately and I'm fucked for not having the skills they are looking for.
I feel blessed to still have a job, but I am weary. What happens when I get laid off? And knock on wood fired? Collect FUNemployment for a while perhaps while I get thrown in the water with the other fishes with opportunistic sharks circling about? Will I be forced to take a pay cut just for the sake of being employed?
We surely are past the industrial age which helped this country rise from recession/depression.
We are surely past the technology bubble and here we are left with its gunky mess with a few surviving leaders.
We are surely past the overheated housing market - which again left us walking in its wreckage. I mean, what have we learned from this? Or have we learned at all?
My sister's employer called Mega Partnership, yes I'm talking about you in here you bastards. You made your employees from engineers, constructions workers and office workers work w/o any pay for months with the promise that when we get more projects we will pay you.
You didn't even pay your unemployment insurance, your employees can't even collect them.
...and yet your 16-year-old duaghter continues to drive her mercedes in a public school. You parade around in your luxury cars and hold employee parties at your ranch house. They even call you "Don" ... that title is for men of dignity - you obviously don't have it.
Last time I heard, your ranch house was foreclosed, your sorry ass is being sued , your company shut down and your cars were repossesed. Oh..and you fled back to Mexico with your family. I hope you get slaughtered by those Cartels. You fucking bastards, go to hell and I hope you get ass fucked by Hitler when that happens.
No..I take that back.
I'll let God do their work of mercy. As we all say in the Philippines
"..Diyos nalang ang bahala sayo." (We will let God do His or Her work on you).
What is in store in our future? I have never seen it as uncertain as this. Will it truly recover? Will we someday, look at a chart and see that it was just a little dip in a whole increasing upward span? For the future's sake, I hope so.
Anyway, that is my weekend rant.
