I did not hear about this until I moved to the US.
So today is the feast day for Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland.
....and Saint Patrick is not even Irish.
He was from England then was sold to slavery in Ireland. He somehow managed to come out of Ireland and lived in what is now France. He became a monk then a priest. He then braved the traumatic memories of his past and returned to Ireland to spread the Gospel and converted Celtics and Druids into Catholicism.
Yeah , I heard all that this afternoon on my way home on Catholic Radio :D
And once again I want to hit myself in the head because I did not bring my camera. I met with friends at Huey's Pub where they have a special - buy Green Beer and have a free dinner of carrots, potatoes. cabbage and corned beef. And no, this is not the canned ones. It's nice tasty slices of corned beef.
Funny because the smell of cabbage reminded me of nilaga :D
I wanted seconds but decided not to do it.
Then we went to ....Goodwill because it's 50% off. I got tshirts to use for work out clothes because ..well, I'm thinking of joining a Zumba class next week.
I didn't even wear green..well my sunglasses were green.
I bought Baileys :D
