..just try this ok? Next time you see an infant or a toddler (up maybe 2 maybe even 3) - yeah with the adorably messy ways, wide-eyed-uncorrupted expressions-wobbly heads-waddles - try to see see them in your mind's eye - imagine them as adults. Or just think of some grown person in your life and imagine them doing those toddler-moves.
Wel l I think it's funny. I'm glad this thought did not occur to me while I was at church last Sunday. This adorable little girl barely 24 months old was walking around the aisle by the pews, waddling and walking the best she could with her bulky diaper - and her milk bottle saying "Hi!" to everyone.
As I put the knee cushion down from the pews and knelt and bowed my head in prayer, she waddled up to me , milk bottle in her mouth and sat on the knee cushion with her back towards the altar. Now her height and the height of the knee cushion allows her to sit comfortably as though she's sitting on a couch or a bench or something. I tried to focus on my moment of prayer . She started rubbing her butt against the knee cushions as she suck from her milk bottle. Then after that, I heard a hollow bump, I glanced over and I saw that she fell backwards from her position and she hit her head with against the pew. Her legs are up in the air and the amazing this is,she's still holding her milk bottle in her mouth. For a fraction of a second, there was a look of surprise in her eyes and THEN she started to cry - with her legs sticking out in the air, her head rested against the pew and her diaper-padded butt almost touching the floor. Her father scooped her up and probably took her to some holding area where little human beings with yet developing social skills are taken to as to not disrupt the mass. Hey, it may sound mean but I pictured her as an adult doing that and man - she would've been one stoned adult.
