Canadian Thanksgiving ....fever..and jury duty

Our investigation on Monday was cancelled, I was relieved because there is a storm and I don't feel like driving in the wind and rain.

We then celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving @ Mimi's Cafe. I'm not Canadian but my friend J is so is T. Both J and T ordered the traditional turkey feast while K and I had lamb shank - yum. And it was a great time for exchange of conversation - such as , England has a tradition called Burning Guy or something like that. The background escapes me now but there really was a man named guy who did bad thins and so he was hung from a pole and was burned. They still do it to this day but they use stuffed men. These stuffed men are made my children and they go from house to house showing off their stuffed man. If the work is good they get more money, if not they get a few pennies. After which the town will have a bonfire and put those stuff men up in a pole to watch him burn. Strange how a seemingly fun festival has some pretty dark beginnings. It's still dark though in a way.

But I think I got sick from it because of the lamb shank that night, I was getting chills. I went to bed with a sore throat and I woke up feeling really chilled. I went on w/ my usual routine. The storm came in during the night and there was this little voice telling me the night before to check my car windows - and I ignored it. When I got to my car to go to work ( a little extra early), I left my d/s window down , soaking my driver side seat. I went to work not feeling so hot, feeling weak and chilled, running a fever. I asked to leave early.

Then today, I have Jury Duty at 1230 but I'll go there @ 12noon. Ugh.
