A week in pictures ...

So as worried as I was that it might snow in my town - I was disappointed when it did not :-(. It snowed everywhere else...but somehow the towns along I-80 were cheated out of snow.

A friend from work got snowed in and she did not have power. The town where I work has snow if you drive 15 or so more miles. One co worker had to drive to work with snow still on their car.

I know , it's rather silly to take pictures of snow - but I don't get to see snow. I'm in the lower lands of Northern California - except for snow-capped mountains 2 hours away, I really don't get to see it up close.

I drive through the Yolo Causeway everyday, this is the time of year is when "birds cry to southern skies" in the words beautifully sang by Mr. Stevie Wonder. The Causeway ia above a marshland which is considered to be a bird sanctuary. As I was approaching the causeway, the sun hasn't risen but was rather casting and pink and orange colors on the clouds up in th east. I noticed that the clouds appeared to me smeared with gray "stuff" and I couldn't understand it for a moment. As I got closer I realized that it was tens upon thousands of birds making their flight to warmer lands to the south. I quickly grabbed my camera, opened my passenger side window and tried to capture the amazing migration.

Lucas also came into this world. Welcome to life baby :) 9 months is a long time coming . May you grow in love and may you overcome all of life's challenges.

The storm has passed , diminishing my hopes for snow. The air remained nippy but dry. I was welcomed by frost on my way to work.

Chico found a friend :

and happy hour with the girls @ Blue Frog . I'm not a beer person but I really enjoyed their Red Ale - it's almost aromatic with floral and honey flavors :D My friend K who is a beer girl said she is surprised I liked it because she said it's a strong beer- I didn't feel it strong. Although I can't get over the bitterness, but I had some calamari and I washed it down with it and it worked just fine :D
