I love food (obviously) :D

...however, I don't claim to be a culinary expert or a foodie with a very well-seasoned palette. I can't say that I'm an gastronomic adventurer because I'm a fish, beef, pork and chicken kind of girl. However, it will be hard to not have a love for travel and not have an appreciation for food.

With that said, lately, there has been a couple of comidas that find my way in my mouth and into my satisfied stomach.

Adalberto's Carne Asada Fries and Horchata

Not just your ordinary french fries. On top of the fries, Adalbertos has added marinated beef, guaacamole, cheese and the optional sour cream. They put hot sauce on the side (but I just pretty much top the fires with it) on the top of the fries. I eat it with a fork , dig in and I wash it down with this drink called Horchata, in Mexico it's an agua frescas of rice, vanilla and cinammon.

For me, biting into my forkful of fries laden with asada, guacamole, shredded cheese, sour cream and hot sauce is a delight of flavors from the crispness of the fries, the asada meat, creamy guacamole tinged with cheese and hot sauce is simply yummy (yeah, sorry no fancy words here).

The contrast of the salty-creamy-spicy of the carne asada fries , chased with the cool creamy vanilla-cinammon sweetness of horchata makes this one of my favorite meals.

Japanese Ramen from Mitsuwa Market San Jose, CA

So this is a specialty Japanese Market in San Jose but inside is an unsuspecting hole-in-the-wall ramen place and it was in here that I've tasted this delicious ramen in a creamy seafood soup. And when I say seafood, I don't mean fishy smell. I first smelled the non-fishy but more salty ocean-like smell from the steam. The soup itself tasted if you are to boil shell fish and other sea crustacean but not in water but in something creamy (think sopas) like maybe from milk or soymilk. They also serve it with scallions, mushroom, some type of seaweed and thinly sliced salted pork. I could eat this ramen even if it's the hottest summer day. The ramen is great and the soup is creamy-seafood-yummy :D.
