I'm not jumping any bandwagons...

...in a way , I've understood what a big part of the American Culture Superbowl is. It's great to experience it.

The Superbowl Fever is infectious. Even for those non-football fans (yes, you're reading the blog of someone who didn't recognize Jerry Rice at this one restaurant where my friends and I were eating , until people started to flock around him). At work, people were wearing their favorite team jerseys this past Friday. On the radio, there is talk about Superbowl house parties, tailgate parties and the consumption of potato chips hehehe.

I've always enjoyed the half-time shows as well. The comical commercials. I'm sure my mom (who moved here 3 years ago) would've enjoyed them but she's working today. She always tells me " I love American commercials, they're so..natural."

I was rooting for the Saints - not based on my favorite players, statistics or their game history. I picked this team because of New Orleans. Even before Katrina, back when I still in the Philippines, I've read about The Big Easy, and have always wanted to go there. I'm so happy that NOLA is celebrating - and I , with them. She's been through tough times, it is good to give her people something to celebrate.

I was was whooping and screaming at the last minutes of the third quarter - everyone who has seen it, knows exactly why. I will not even attempt to explain it because I don't know enough of the terminologies etc. I have a little bet going with my little brother - who is a Colts fan , and he now owes me ... $1.00.

So yay Saints! Yay New Orleans!
