Summer blues..or spring

So my sister came over last night. Her car was broken into and 95% of her clothes were stolen , along with her car stereo, battery and a catalytic converter. Her car was found about 2-3 miles from her place, after being stolen from her parking spot.

I felt bad for her so I got her some items from Ross ( LOVE this store). I wish I took photos of it.

We had breakfast this morning and I guess it was my subconcious but I put together pieces that are summer blues - turquose, denim, teal, sea green, lapiz and cobalt. I slipped a white pair of strappy flat sandales as well.

^ thrifted

^ scarf from Ross. A colorful weave of purple, pink, blue, green, red, yellow..silver..etc..etc..

^ studded white sandals by The Avenue, Sally Hansen nail polish in Sea Breeze

^ V neck cotton tee by The Avenue, dark wash bootcut by Lane Bryant. Monkey thrifted, doggie thrifted :)

To continue with my "blue period", I recall a poem when I was in second grade. My English teacher, Mrs. Mata, wanted me to represent my class to compete in "poetry reading". As English being my second language, I felt kind of giddy about it. I unfortunately missed the competition because it was in the morning and somehow I missed the memo.

Why the Sky is blue , by John Ciardi

I don't suppose you happen to know
Why the sky is blue? It's because the snow
Takes out the white. That leaves it clean
For the trees and grass to take out the green.
Then pears and bananas start to mellow,
And bit by bit they take out the yellow.
The sunsets, of course, take out the red
And pour it into the ocean bed
Or behind the mountains in the west.
You take all that out and the rest
Couldn't be anything else but blue.
Look for yourself. You can see it's true.
