I should do this often

You know update my blog almost daily. Make it my routine you know, because I really would like to have a record of the goings-on in my head to say the least.

I'm in the mood to write an experience I've had in Sonoma last August of 2008. I joined a scouting mission for a paranormal group based in Sacramento. We went to ahistorical building that used to house ill people and it is no longer in use and it is empty and it has been for the last 50 years.

It's a beautiful brick building with white trimmings. To the western side of this building is a well-kept grassy area that is at least half a block in size. The Iproperty also has towering trees which I think are redwood trees.

During the day we did a tour of the place. I didn't get to go in because I ended up hanging out with two people who wanted to scout on their own. I eventually had dinner with these people and they both decided to go get their "ghost hunting" fix at 9pm that night. I was game at first but I really didn't want to tresspass however.

So we drove back to the place. Pulled up at the southwestern side of the building. The place appears to be deserted and dark which really added to the creepy ambiance already. I only have a digital camera on me but the two other people prepared their ghost hunting equipments mainly a recorder and an emf detector.

I stepped out hesistantly from the SUV and averted my eyes from the building windows because I was already making up images of patient-ghost peering out the windows. I was already having second thoughts about it and was already hatching up a plan to excuse myself. Tresspassing was my main concern. Besides, I want to be a part of a paranormal investigation to gather and document or debunk claims of paranormal activity and not tresspass an old abandoned building to get a ghost-hunting fix. It is a good 200-300 feet walk from the suv to the west entrance - past a darkened gravel walkway, towering redwoods, overgrown brush and those windows. When we finally came to the side door I said , " You guys, I'm sorry, I'm getting cold feet, I'm scared, I'll stay by the car and wait for you guys." and I really was not expecting them hand me the keys to the suv so that I can wait inside.the car. I mean, we just met that day. Surprisingly, they handed me the keys.

The walk back to the SUV was not easy either. As I turned and walked away, I was fighting every damn urge to not make a mad dash to the SUV - in the dark. I kept my eye on the SUV and did not look behind, above,to the left or to the right of me. I walked as far from the building as possible with every step fighting not to freak out. As I approached the SUV I realized that it was 4-5 feet below me - the vacant grassy area is elevated and "encased" by those things that are called "hollow blocks". I did not want to go around where the steps or the ramp was , I sat on my butt and lowered myself to get to the SUV.

While I was in the SUV waiting, I got into a comfortable state and my eyes was emptily staring at the dark grassy vacant area and I was no longer creeped out. At that point, I just wanted to go home. Then I saw movement towards the back end of the grassy area, it was a movement in the darkness and it appeared lighter than the sourounding darkness and it appeared to be a pair of pant legs that took a step or two from left to right. It was enough to snap me out of staring on empty and I shifted my eyes and and head to the main street outside. I remember seeing a deer at the middle of the driveway when we pulled in and dismissed it as a deer. Ten minutes later or so the other two came back and we drove home.

A few days after, I was doing some research of this place and came across an old photo. The grassy vacant area used to house another hospital building...

I'd like to go back there and hopefully we could get permission to investigate any claims of activity.
